Outrunning the Rain – A Surprise Hit of Sonic Beauty
This track dropped into a Telegram chat out of nowhere, forwarded by Marcelo in response to a couple of my own songs.
Normally, I try not to get too caught up in genres—but I can’t deny that this thing, whatever it is, hit me right in the face. Is it progressive metal? Experimental? Avant-garde?
Honestly… who cares.
It just sounds great. I love the intro—something about it instantly reminded me of Devin Townsend. And I’m not name-dropping him to score points with Devin or with ourselves. It’s just… that same sense of undefined complexity, the persistence of the riffs, the solos, the style—so musical, and at the same time so technical it almost knocked me off my chair.
It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but one thing’s for sure: this is a killer track.

I asked Copilot to come up with a cover for it. I had something better in mind, honestly. But this is what I managed to pull together in a reasonable amount of time. Maybe it gets the idea across. Who knows.
