This new album is a heartfelt tribute to a mountain of influences — and to a lucky find in a dusty second-hand market.
That’s where I stumbled upon a vintage Italian transistor amplifier, a Davoli Virus from the 1970s. That amp sparked the whole creative process behind Crystal Dream, shaping its tone and attitude with its raw, imperfect warmth.
Every track carries a touch of grit — everything sounds a bit dirty on purpose, soaked in that “live” vibe that makes recordings breathe and sweat. Equalizations often overlap, enhancing the rough textures I wanted to bring out across the record.
Musically, this album travels far and wide: from the muddy roots of Mississippi country-blues to smoky, late-night jam sessions filled with tube amps and old whisky bottles.
There’s a sincere tribute to one of my biggest inspirations — The Black Keys — whose balance of rawness and originality I deeply admire.
Lyrically, the songs dive into cinematic tales and personal reflections.
The title track, Crystal Dream, draws inspiration from the cult movie Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man, along with all the cultural ripples that kind of storytelling left behind. Some tracks are narratives, others dig into themes close to me — but together they form a sound I’m truly proud of.
It’s been an incredibly productive month for our label. The friendly rivalry and creative exchange with Roamcell and n0-se keep pushing us forward — in words spoken and unspoken alike.
Hope you enjoy this record as much as I do.
It’s out everywhere now.
